Terry Durack, co-editor

 Terry Durack has been chief restaurant critic of The Sydney Morning Herald and co-editor of The Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide for eight years, with time off for good behaviour from 2000 to 2009 when he was restaurant critic for the UK’s Independent on Sunday. He was named World Food Media’s Best Restaurant Critic and Glenfiddich Restaurant Critic of The Year (twice – he likes seconds) in that time. He writes regularly for the (sydney) magazine and Good Living, and has authored six books, including Noodle, Yum and Hunger.

Joanna Savill, co-editor

As a linguist and TV reporter, Joanna spent her formative years eating her way around the world. Then she began writing about it – back when eating out was either ‘ethnic’ or ‘modern Australian’. That was for the much-loved SBS Eating Guides and The Sydney Morning Herald’s Good Living and Spectrum sections, among others. She also documented our food and restaurant life for The Food Lover’s Guide to Australia TV series. She has now racked up five years as Good Food Guide co-editor and three directing the Crave Sydney International Food Festival. It’s probably fair to say she loves food, and restaurants, wherever she may find them.

Barbara Sweeney, regional editor

Barbara knew a little about food when she bought a cafe in Lismore aged 21, but she learned a lot more real fast. Later, she found a seat at the public dining table, as editor of the street-food bible, Cheap Eats. These days she roams the countryside in search of stories for Country Style magazine, a nice double act with her new role as regional editor of the Good Food Guide.
